Goody Goody (2026) Is Bringing Supernatural Horror Into the Delivery Room

There are plenty of things that can go wrong during childbirth, but Goody Goody is taking that particular fear and pushing it somewhere considerably more supernatural.

The upcoming horror film from writer-director Raymond Creamer follows an expectant couple and their midwife as what should be a carefully planned home birth begins to take a deeply disturbing turn - and with a blizzard trapping everyone inside, getting outside for help becomes increasingly difficult.

Goody Goody premieres exclusively on Shudder on September 18, 2026.

When Childbirth Becomes the Source of the Horror

The film centers on a long home-birth process that initially provides the characters with a sense of comfort and control, before increasingly sinister complications begin to emerge - a remote home and a violent snowstorm make the situation considerably worse, effectively turning the location into a pressure cooker where the characters have nowhere easy to go and no simple way of getting outside assistance.

Samantha Robinson will star as Goody, the expectant mother at the center of the increasingly disturbing situation, and Robinson will be familiar to horror fans from The Love Witch, as well as appearances in Cam and Hauntology, and the role gives her another opportunity to move into particularly strange genre territory.

The cast also includes Zoe Renee, Colby Hollman and Colleen Foy, with Foy playing the midwife attempting to navigate the increasingly alarming complications.

The Film at Lincoln Center description gives Foy's character a particularly important position within the story - she is an experienced midwife who reluctantly agrees to assist with the home delivery and gradually finds her concerns about the situation justified.

Raymond Creamer Makes His Feature Debut

Raymond Creamer wrote and directed Goody Goody, marking his feature directorial debut, and Creamer has spoken about his fascination with ghost stories and folklore, describing his intention to give the movie a campfire-tale or storybook quality, which suggests that the film isn't simply approaching its supernatural elements as conventional monster horror.

The film was produced by Harrison Rothman, Steven Schneider and Keely Kemp.

From Festival Screenings to Shudder

Goody Goody has already had festival exposure ahead of its Shudder release, including screenings as part of Scary Movies XIV at Film at Lincoln Center in New York, and Shudder has now positioned the film as part of its 2026 Season of Screams programming, placing it among a wider run of new genre releases arriving on the service throughout the autumn.
