Synopsis
Faces of Death is a meta horror remake of the notorious 1978 faux documentary, exploring the line between reality and fiction in the digital age.
Barbie Ferreira stars as a content moderator for a major video platform who discovers videos that appear to reenact murders from the original Faces of Death.
As she investigates, she must determine whether the violence she witnesses is staged or happening in real time. In a world where nothing online can be trusted, the stakes are high - and the consequences are deadly.
About Faces of Death
Directed by Daniel Goldhaber and co-written with Isa Mazzei, Faces of Death reinvents the original film’s infamous “Is it real or not?” premise for a modern, internet-obsessed audience.
Filmed in 2023, Faces of Death is rated R for strong bloody violence and gore, sexual content, nudity, language, and drug use.
Faces of Death was one of the first viral video tapes, and we are so lucky to be able to use it as a jumping off point for this exploration of cycles of violence and the way they perpetuate themselves online
