Synopsis
Indian Institute of Zombies is a horror-comedy that combines campus satire, hostel culture, and undead chaos inside one of India’s elite engineering institutes, here it follows a group of students whose lives revolve around exams, rankings, placements, and endless academic pressure - until a sudden zombie outbreak throws the entire campus into madness, and as the infection spreads through classrooms, dormitories, and lecture halls, students are forced into a desperate fight for survival.
The outbreak quickly destroys the rigid hierarchy of campus life, and the toppers and rule-followers begin collapsing under pressure, while the backbenchers and social outcasts unexpectedly become the most capable survivors.
Blending gore, humour, and social commentary, Indian Institute of Zombies transforms campus life into a full-scale undead nightmare.
About Indian Institute of Zombies
Indian Institute of Zombies is an Indian zombie horror-comedy directed by Alok Kumar Dwivedi and Gaganjeet Singh, with a screenplay written by Abbas Dalal and Hussain Dalal.
The film blends zombie horror with sharp satire aimed at India’s elite engineering and management institutions, where students are consumed by competition, academic rankings, placements, and social pressure.
Rather than focusing solely on scares, the movie uses its zombie outbreak to expose how fragile that system becomes when real chaos erupts, where the film reportedly flips the traditional campus hierarchy, turning the outsiders and underachievers into unlikely heroes while the so-called “best” students struggle to survive.
Directors Dwivedi and Singh keep the tone energetic and comedic while balancing horror elements with relatable hostel humour, campus rivalries, and social commentary.
The movie also uses its fictional “Amrit serum” storyline as a satire on shortcut culture and the obsession with success at any cost.
