What Horror Titles Made Google’s Year in Search 2025?

Sinners was highly searched on Google in 2025

Google’s Year in Search 2025 report recently came out, and of course I was interested in the horror movies people were most searching for.

Here’s a snapshot of what 2025 looked like for horror movies, TV, and related searches in the U.S. and around the world:

Horror Movies In The Top 10 (U.S. Most Searched in 2025)

So three of the top ten searched films were horror movies, which considering all the movies released across multiple genres in 2025, that's quite impressive.

Television (U.S. Most Searched in 2025)

  • #10: IT: Welcome to Derry

So one horror tv show in the top 10, which is to be expected as not many get released.

Most Searched “Ending Explained” Queries (U.S.)

This was, for me, the most interesting category, as people clearly want to dissect endings, not just watch the content.

No surprise really, although maybe with The Woman in the Yard, as it didn't do well at theaters, but did better on streaming I suppose.

Global Searches (Entertainment)

Horror was not just a U.S. obsession in 2025; internationally, the genre held strong:

  • Movies

    • Sinners – #5 globally

    • Final Destination Bloodlines – #7

    • Weapons – #8

    • 28 Years Later – #9,

  • Television

    • Monster: The Ed Gein Story – #1 globally

  • Books

    • Frankenstein – #6

    • Stephen King’s IT – #7

So, a little bit of information, interesting, right?
