Synopsis

It’s Halloween night in 1997, and the small town of Carpenter Falls is preparing for another night of costumes, horror marathons, and local celebrations.

Quinn Curtis, a video store clerk and lifelong horror fan, expects a quiet evening surrounded by her favorite movies. But the night takes a terrifying turn when a figure from the town’s dark past returns - a masked killer known as the Boy from Below.

Obsessed with horror films, the killer begins recreating his own twisted versions of classic slasher scenarios, turning Quinn and her friends into unwilling participants in a real-life nightmare, and as the body count rises, Quinn must use her knowledge of horror history and the rules of the genre to outsmart a relentless killer and survive until morning.

The Boy From Below is an independent slasher film from Jonestown Films, written by Tory Jones and Jerron Spencer and directed by Tory Jones.

Set during the golden era of video stores and 1990s horror fandom, the film serves as a tribute to the slasher movies and genre culture that shaped a generation of filmmakers and fans.

Director Tory Jones has described the film as a love letter to the mid-’90s video store era, drawing inspiration from the horror classics he discovered growing up while bringing together many genre veterans he admired.

The film combines nostalgic horror references, small-town mystery, and a classic masked-killer setup while celebrating the culture of renting VHS tapes and discovering new nightmares from the shelves of local video stores.
