Trauma Or, Monsters All Brings Vampires, Werewolves & Frankenstein Horror Together

Trauma Or, Monsters All

The monsters aren’t hiding in the shadows - they’re living among us.

Synopsis

Trauma Or, Monsters All brings together vampires, werewolves and Frankenstein-inspired horror in a modern monster mash-up from indie horror filmmaker Larry Fessenden.

Set in the small town of Talbot Falls, the film follows Cassandra, an aspiring writer who arrives hoping to work on her next book while taking a job at the local library, but after uncovering the town’s dark history and publishing an article questioning whether monsters are living among the community, old secrets begin to resurface.

As fear, suspicion and buried trauma spread, three legendary creatures emerge from the shadows - a vampire, a werewolf and a Frankenstein-like creation - forcing the town to confront the monsters hiding both within society and themselves.

Blending classic horror mythology with Fessenden’s trademark human drama and social commentary, Trauma Or, Monsters All explores what happens when monsters are no longer just creatures lurking in the dark, but reflections of the damage and trauma people carry with them.

About Trauma Or, Monsters All

Trauma Or, Monsters All is a monster crossover event connecting three of Larry Fessenden’s previous horror films - the 1995 vampire story Habit, the 2019 Frankenstein-inspired Depraved and the 2023 werewolf movie Blackout.

The film brings together the three returning monsters under one roof, creating an unusual mix of gothic horror, creature feature and character-driven drama.

Rather than a traditional monster battle, Fessenden describes the movie as an existential take on classic horror icons, using vampires, werewolves and reanimated beings to explore modern fears, personal struggles and the hidden trauma within everyday communities.

“It was a slightly absurd mission to present my existential take on these monsters in a contemporary mash-up, but I enjoyed the challenge and I hope the film will feel both familiar and provocative.”

Produced through Glass Eye Pix, the movie continues Fessenden’s long-running interest in reinventing classic horror archetypes for contemporary audiences.
