The interview immediately gives her the attention she wanted, but the situation becomes much more dangerous as she starts questioning whether the man is actually telling the truth about what he has done.

A real stalking case inspired the story

The screenplay actually takes its starting point from a stalking case that happened in a small Texas town during the early 2000s - Director Mitch McLeod has also mentioned that the events happened to someone close to him, giving the project a personal connection that eventually led him to develop the story as a feature.

Although the film uses elements from the real case, Marrow is heavily fictionalised rather than being a direct recreation, but the filmmakers did use real police files and accounts as part of the research behind the screenplay.s an important source of information as Jamie tries to understand the person she has allowed into her life.

A returning group of collaborators

The supporting cast includes Matthew Tompkins, Phil Harrison, Ashley Spicer, Vanessa Sun, Rrian Rhonda, Abby Joy, Kristin Payne and Carlos Cortez - Tompkins plays Sergeant Frank Mitchell, Harrison appears as James/The Voice, and Cortez plays Detective Roger Riggs.

Several members of the cast have previously worked with McLeod. -Tompkins, Harrison and Spicer appeared in his earlier film A Woman Under the Stage, while other members of the production have connections to his 2019 feature Silhouette.

McLeod wrote the screenplay with Jessica Dawn Willis and novelist Preston Fassel.
