A true-crime podcast is proving to be a very bad thing to listen to in Dutch horror film Jimmy, which arrives on demand in the US on November 10.
Directed by David-Jan Bronsgeest, the film centres on Dilara, who returns to her hometown following the murder of her childhood friend Jennifer. Back with the people she left behind, she becomes caught up in a podcast about Jimmy, a notorious killer who was believed to be dead. The problem is that listening to his story seems to bring him closer. And once you've heard it, you might be next.
The situation gets worse when another tragedy strikes during a memorial rave. Dilara begins to suspect that the podcast is somehow connected to the deaths, but working out what's happening means confronting a past that her old friends would rather leave alone.
Sonia Eijken plays Dilara, with Rick Paul van Mulligen, Charlie Chan Dagelet, Sara Luna Zoric, Richelle Plantinga, Thijs Boermans, Isa Hoes, Sophie Bouquet and Aiko Beemsterboer also among the cast.
Bronsgeest directs from a screenplay by Tim Koomen, based on their 2018 short film Meet Jimmy. The feature originally had its Dutch release in 2024 and is now getting a US digital release through Epic Pictures.
Jimmy is available on demand from November 10, 2026
