Synopsis

Invoking Scream is a Chilean found-footage horror film that dives deep into the worlds of black metal, witchcraft, and supernatural terror, and serving as a direct sequel to Invoking Yell (2023), the film continues the story surrounding the mysterious disappearance of Andrea Fernandez, the lead singer of the infamous black metal band Invoking Yell.

Years after the shocking events surrounding Andrea and her bandmates, a group of heavy metal fans discover a hidden box buried near Andrea’s grave. Inside they find a damaged VHS tape and an ancient book connected to dark occult practices.

Seeing the discovery as the perfect material for a documentary, the group begins investigating the band’s history, including the unexplained disappearance of Andrea and the brutal murders that destroyed the group back in 1998.

However, their search for answers quickly becomes something far more dangerous, and by disturbing the artifacts and attempting to uncover the truth behind the band’s downfall, they awaken a sinister supernatural force that was never meant to be found.

About Invoking Scream

Invoking Scream is a 2026 Chilean analog found-footage horror film directed by Patricio Valladares, where the sequel continues the raw, underground style of Invoking Yell, using damaged VHS recordings, documentary-style footage, and a deliberately lo-fi presentation to create the feeling of discovering a lost piece of forbidden media.

The combination of heavy music culture and witchcraft gives the movie a distinctive identity, using the underground world of black metal as the backdrop for a story about obsession, curiosity, and the dangers of searching for forbidden knowledge.

Director and Cast
