Bloodlines: Game of Death 3 Teaser Trailer Promises an Even Bloodier Chapter

If you thought the Game of Death movies had already reached their limit when it comes to excessive violence, apparently nobody bothered telling Timo Rose - the first teaser trailer has arrived for Bloodlines: Game of Death 3, the upcoming third chapter in the German splatter-horror franchise, and it wastes very little time reminding us exactly what sort of movie we're dealing with.

There are chainsaws, blood, bodies and the sort of general carnage that suggests subtlety wasn't particularly high on the list of priorities during production, and I wouldn't expect anything less from a movie whose director is already promising that this will be the most brutal entry in the series.

The Game of Death series has been built around increasingly extreme horror, and the third movie seems determined to push that even further rather than suddenly becoming respectable.

This One Is Supposed to Be Bigger

Bloodlines: Game of Death 3 is directed by Timo Rose, who also co-wrote the screenplay with Steve “Uncle Creepy” Barton, the horror writer and producer known for work including Terrifier 2, Never Sleep Again: The Elm Street Legacy and Survival of the Dead.

The film continues the story established by Game of Death Chapter 1: The Six Doors to Hell and Game of Death Chapter 2: Dark Secrets, with the third chapter expanding the larger Game of Death universe.

Rose has described the third movie as more brutal but also more fun, with the intention of mixing extreme violence with twisted humor and action rather than simply trying to out-gore the previous films for the sake of it, and then there's the slightly ridiculous claim that the movie's first ten minutes contain a body count of more than 100.

The Game of Death project has been developing into a much larger horror universe, with the first two films establishing the mythology before the third chapter continues that story, while an animated feature titled Game of Death: FREAKIES is also part of the wider project.

The production has wrapped, with Joe Davison, Lewis Santer, Sophie Manus, Anthony Straeger, Jack Rhodan, Germaine Heri, Jens Schütte, Konstantin Korovilas, Michael Köster, Sabrina Arnds and André Reissig making up the principal cast - Rose and Nando Rohner produce the film, with Barton serving as executive producer, while Konstantin Korovilas handles cinematography.
