A24’s upcoming action horror film Slayground is heading to cinemas on January 29, 2027 - written and directed by Jeremy Saulnier, the filmmaker behind Green Room, Blue Ruin and Rebel Ridge, the film was previously known as October before receiving its new title in September.
The new release date was revealed through a poster released by A24, which you can see above, with the design features a workplace-style notice reading “Days since the last homicide”, with a sad face replacing the number – not exactly the sort of sign you want to see at a haunted attraction.
Cory Michael Smith leads the cast as scare actor Metal Mike Graves, who wakes up inside a haunted attraction surrounded by the bodies of his co-workers, with no memory of how they died, and as a state-wide manhunt closes in, he tries to uncover what happened, even as the evidence begins pointing back towards him.
The cast also includes Imogen Poots, Chase Sui Wonders, Sophie Wilde, James Badge Dale, Young Mazino, Stephen Root and Matty Matheson - Poots previously worked with Saulnier on Green Room, while Wilde is known for the Australian horror film Talk to Me.
A24 has already released a short promotional teaser built largely around security-camera footage from inside the attraction, and the campaign has also directed viewers to Run Like Hell, a website featuring surveillance footage and other material connected to the film.
Slayground opens in US cinemas on January 29, 2027.
