The Invisible Half (Inbijiburu Hāfu) is coming to US DVD and digital/VOD on November 10, 2026, with Cleopatra Venom bringing the Japanese horror film to North American audiences.
Director Masaki Nishiyama started developing the film back in 2019 when he was just 19 years old, and he was 25 by the time it was finished, with the film serving as his feature directorial debut, where it finally opened in Japan on July 31.
The story follows Elena Takahashi (Lisa Siera), a half-Japanese, half-British teenager who transfers to a school in rural Japan and struggles to fit in, before a classmate dies and strange things start happening, with Elena finding herself pursued by a transparent monster that can only be seen when she's touching her smartphone, and the creature's sounds can only be heard through her earphones.
The film won three awards at the 19th Tanabe Benkei Film Festival and a nomination for Best International Feature Film at the 33rd Raindance Film Festival, and stars Lisa Siera alongside Miyu Okuno and Runa Hirasawa.
The film lands in the US on November 10, 2026, courtesy of Cleopatra Venom.
