Universal Pictures has released new promo video that takes viewers behind the scenes of their latest horror flick, Abigail. Directed by the talented Radio Silence team of Matt Bettinelli-Olpin and Tyler Gillett (known for their work on Ready or Not and Scream), Abigail is set to be released on April 19th.
Described as a "brash, blood-thirsty new vision of the vampire flick," Abigail centers around a 12-year-old ballerina who also happens to be a vampire, and she is out for blood. The featurette showcases one of the film's stars, Kathryn Newton, as she takes viewers on a tour of the set and highlights three of the rooms they filmed in.
The story follows a group of criminals who kidnap the young ballerina daughter of a powerful underworld figure, hoping to collect a $50 million ransom. However, as they watch the girl overnight in an isolated mansion, they begin to realize that they are locked inside with a far from normal little girl.
Abigail boasts an impressive cast, including Melissa Barrera (known for her work in the Scream franchise and In the Heights), Dan Stevens (Gaslit, Legion), William Catlett (Black Lightning, True Story), Kevin Durand (Resident Evil: Retribution, X-Men Origins: Wolverine), and Angus Cloud (Euphoria, North Hollywood). Alisha Weir takes on the titular role of Abigail.
