Camp is back - and it’s bloodier than ever.
Synopsis
Teenage Sex and Death at Camp Miasma is a slasher comedy that follows a queer filmmaker tapped to direct the latest installment of a once-beloved horror franchise. Determined to reinvent the series, she becomes obsessed with convincing the original movie’s legendary “final girl” to return for the new chapter.
What starts as a bold creative vision soon spirals into something far more volatile. As admiration turns into fixation, the relationship between director and star intensifies into a chaotic mix of rivalry, desire, and psychological unraveling.
Set against a backdrop of campy carnage and meta-horror satire, the film promises blood, obsession, and midnight-movie madness in equal measure.
About Teenage Sex and Death at Camp Miasma
Written and directed by Jane Schoenbrun (I Saw The TV Glow) the film blends slasher tropes with dark comedy and self-aware genre commentary. Known for crafting emotionally raw and visually distinct films, Schoenbrun approaches this project as both homage and subversion.
The filmmaker has described the movie as an attempt at a “sleepover classic” - an outrageous yet cozy midnight odyssey inspired by the kinds of horror films that once lured unsuspecting viewers from the video store shelves.
The film is produced by Plan B Entertainment, Scythia Films, and MUBI, with MUBI distributing in the United States. Production is scheduled to begin this summer in Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada.
