A modern nightmare fueled by fear and suspicion.
Plot
Son of Sara: Volume 1 follows Sara, a pregnant woman whose life begins to unravel as her pregnancy progresses, and what initially appears to be a normal experience soon becomes deeply disturbing when her cravings take a sinister turn and increasingly unsettling events begin surrounding her.
Complicating matters further is the sudden return of her estranged boyfriend, whose reappearance coincides with a series of strange occurrences that force Sara to question everything she believes about herself, her relationship, and the child she is carrying, before becoming convinced that something is horribly wrong with the life growing inside her.
Is her fear merely the result of stress and isolation, or is a far darker force at work?

About Son of Sara
Son of Sara: Volume One is a 2026 Canadian horror film written and directed by Houston Bone, and the first part of 2 volumes planned.
Produced by Black Elephant Productions, Grisly Productions, and Telefilm Canada, the film was shot in Canada during 2023 and later premiered on the festival circuit before securing North American distribution through Saban Films.
Often described as a modern spiritual successor to Rosemary's Baby, the movie reimagines classic pregnancy horror through a contemporary lens, blending psychological unease with supernatural terror, and emotional character drama.
Rather than relying solely on traditional scares, the film focuses heavily on mounting paranoia, deteriorating trust, and the frightening loss of control that accompanies Sara's increasingly mysterious pregnancy.
Festival audiences praised the film's unsettling atmosphere, emotional intensity, and practical horror effects, helping build anticipation ahead of its wider release.
