Synopsis
The Treehouse (La Casa en el Árbol) is a Spanish survival horror thriller that blends psychological suspense, wilderness terror, and revenge-driven mystery into a chilling story set deep within an isolated forest, and follows Ale, a young woman who travels with her boyfriend Jesús and their dog Drago to spend a romantic getaway in a secluded treehouse suspended high above the remote forests of Zeanuri.
Their peaceful retreat turns into tragedy during the night when Ale is awakened by Drago’s frantic barking, and investigating the disturbance, she witnesses a horrifying event: Jesús plunges from the elevated treehouse to his death below.
One year later, still haunted by unanswered questions, Ale returns to the forest convinced that Jesús was killed by something lurking among the trees, and determined to uncover the truth, she begins investigating the circumstances surrounding his death and the dark legends connected to the wilderness.

Presented internationally by Black Mandala, the film combines elements of wilderness horror, psychological suspense, and creature-feature mystery while subverting traditional horror conventions by focusing on a protagonist who actively investigates and confronts the threat rather than simply trying to escape it.
The project has been described as a horror story centered on a resourceful "final girl" figure who chooses to hunt the monster herself, and director Luis Calderón crafted the project around the idea of reversing familiar horror dynamics, focusing on a protagonist who actively seeks answers and pursues the threat rather than merely surviving it.
