Some forests don’t let you leave whole.

Synopsis

The Djinn’s Curse 2 (Khong Khaek 2) follows a woman who vanishes into the wilderness under mysterious circumstances, and when she eventually returns, something is profoundly wrong - her behavior becomes violent, erratic, and increasingly inhuman, as if she is no longer fully herself.

As her condition worsens, it becomes clear she is under the influence of a powerful, ancient curse tied to local spiritual beliefs and forbidden practices involving djinn-like entities and black magic rituals, where her transformation quickly escalates from personal tragedy into a growing threat to everyone around her.

Her husband is forced into a desperate struggle to understand what happened in the forest and how to break the curse before it spreads further, but the deeper he digs into the origins of the possession, the more he realizes that the forces involved are not just spiritual - they are deeply rooted in faith, sacrifice, and traditions that refuse to be easily broken.

About The Djinn’s Curse 2

The Djinn’s Curse 2 (Khong Khaek 2) is a 2026 Thai supernatural horror film directed by Kriangkrai Monwichit, continuing the thematic universe introduced in the original Khong Khaek film.

The film is produced by Monwichit Entertainment and further develops its focus on culturally specific horror, particularly the intersection of Islamic-inspired djinn mythology and traditional Southern Thai black magic practices.

The sequel emphasizes psychological deterioration, ritual mythology, and the oppressive atmosphere of Thailand’s southern forests, where supernatural beliefs are deeply intertwined with everyday life, where the narrative builds tension through isolation, spiritual uncertainty, and the slow realization that the curse is not simply something that can be escaped—it must be understood, and possibly endured.

The film’s visual style emphasizes mist-heavy forests, claustrophobic rural environments, and natural darkness, using atmosphere as a primary storytelling tool, and the setting near Mount Budo plays a key role in reinforcing the sense of isolation and spiritual danger.
