Better Luck Than Chuck Is Putting Horror Nerds to the Ultimate Trivia Test

If you have ever found yourself arguing with somebody over some completely useless horror movie fact that absolutely nobody else cares about, Better Luck Than Chuck might be the game show for you - The new horror-comedy trivia series is finally getting its proper YouTube debut this month, giving horror fans a chance to put all that useless genre knowledge to work - and maybe win some pretty damn good prizes in the process.

The six-episode series premieres September 24, 2026, with new episodes arriving every Thursday throughout the Halloween season, AND It is hosted by Alexis Allotta as The Widow and Adam Michaels as Charlie, an undead married couple who invite three horror fans into their basement each week to see who actually knows their stuff.

This Is Basically Horror Nerd Jeopardy With a Corpse

The basic idea is pretty simple here - three contestants battle through two rounds of horror trivia covering everything from famous movies and characters to the sort of ridiculous details that only somebody who has watched the same slasher twelve times would remember.

The contestant with the highest score gets through to Charlie’s Workshop, where things get a little more physical, as they have 90 seconds to hunt down recognizable horror movie items in a scavenger hunt - so knowing the answer to a question isn't necessarily enough to get you to the end.

The Hosts Have Their Own Horror Story

The Widow isn't just a horror-themed presenter who happens to live in a spooky basement - she's a witch who poisoned her husband Charlie, kept his corpse around and eventually brought him back to life, but unfortunately for Charlie, resurrection didn't exactly restore him to his former self - he's stuck on the couch while his wife makes him watch horror movies.

Now they're hosting a game show together.

The first season's grand prize is a Universal Halloween Horror Nights vacation package, with the winner and a guest getting a trip to either Universal Orlando Resort or Universal Studios Hollywood, and there are also prizes supplied by a bunch of horror companies and festivals, including Fright Rags, Severin Films, Trick or Treat Studios, Terror Vision Records and Video, Cavity Colors, Terror Films, Chattanooga Film Festival and Panic Fest.

The pilot for the show originally premiered at SeriesFest in 2025, after the project had been kicking around for a while, and the series has since made festival appearances including FilmQuest, so now, rather than sitting around waiting for somebody else to decide whether horror trivia deserves a home, the six-episode season is heading straight to YouTube.
