Synopsis

A Man in the Woods With an Axe  as a traditional 1980s-inspired slasher before transforming into something far stranger - set initially during the summer of 1987, the story follows a group of young people who venture into the woods, only to find themselves hunted by a mysterious axe-wielding killer.

At first, the film appears to embrace the familiar formula of classic backwoods horror - isolated location, unsuspecting victims and a relentless killer stalking from the shadows, however, there is much more happening beneath the surface.

Spanning multiple decades and shifting between timelines and perspectives, the movie gradually reveals that the mystery surrounding the killer and the town is far more complicated than audiences might expect.
