Synopsis
The Glorious Dead follows a small-town sheriff and her deputy daughter as they face an unimaginable nightmare when hell itself begins releasing its horrors into the world - set against an increasingly unstable version of America in 2026, with resurrected dead, demonic creatures, and supernatural forces turning their community into a battlefield.
As the line between reality and nightmare collapses, the pair must rely on their instincts, dark humour, and determination to survive a terrifying invasion that forces them to confront questions of belief, morality, and the world around them.
About The Glorious Dead
The Glorious Dead is the latest independent horror film from The Adams Family, the filmmaking team behind Hellbender, Where the Devil Roams, and Mother of Flies - known for their DIY approach, practical effects, and handcrafted style of filmmaking, John Adams and Toby Poser continue their tradition of creating personal, strange, and visually ambitious horror with a production built around homemade creature effects, practical makeup, and a small independent crew.
The film explores themes of faith, belief, and social uncertainty through a nightmarish supernatural story where demonic forces become a reflection of the fears and frustrations of modern life, where John Adams described the film as:
About waking up in America in 2026, and feeling like it’s not exactly what you thought it was.
If you literally saw these demons we’ve created - saw them crawl out of the earth in real life - how would you actually react? It’s fun to think that through and to give that a kind of integrity
Toby Poser added:
The clothing it wears is that it looks like a small-town sheriff and her deputy wake up and experience an escalatingly very, very, very, very, very bad day.
The film also explores religious themes and belief systems without presenting a simple argument, instead examining what happens when those ideas become reality.
