About Don’t Leave the Kids Alone
Set against the nostalgic backdrop of the late 1980s, the film uses its pre-digital setting to heighten feelings of isolation and vulnerability. Rather than relying solely on traditional horror scares, the story focuses on psychological tension, childhood fears, and the emotional complexities of sibling relationships.
Director Emilio Portes described the project as "A personal journey back to our childhood.", and he also explained that the film explores "The rivalry between siblings, their indestructible bond and that impulsive fantasy of wanting to be the only child".
Following its world premiere at the International Film Festival Rotterdam, the film also screened at BIFF and Fantaspoa, earning attention as one of the most anticipated Latin American horror releases.
Backed by Videocine, one of Latin America's largest film distributors and production companies, the film is positioned as a major regional horror release that combines emotional storytelling with supernatural terror.
