Synopsis

The Mask One: Faceless is a Cambodian-English language supernatural horror film that follows a group of YouTube ghost-hunters who travel deep into the Cambodian jungle in search of viral paranormal content, and what begins as a routine investigation into local legends quickly spirals out of control when they encounter an unseen force linked to ancient spiritual traditions buried within the forest.

One by one, the group is hunted by a presence associated with a local entity known only through fragmented folklore - a force tied to loss of identity, erasure, and the disappearance of the “self”, where victims are not only killed but seemingly stripped of recognition, memory, and face, leaving behind something disturbingly incomplete.

About The Mask One: Faceless

Written by Jeremiah Kipp from a story by Sastra Film founder Bun Channimol, the project represents the company’s first major step into internationally targeted genre filmmaking.

Sastra Film describes the project as part of its expansion into global horror production rooted in Cambodian mythology and Southeast Asian spiritual traditions.

Founder Bun Channimol stated:
We’ve spent more than a decade building Sastra Film into Cambodia’s largest studio. Cannes is where we introduce our production quality to the rest of the world.
The film is currently being introduced at the Cannes film market, where Sastra is in discussions with international distributors, where Sastra and sales partner Wave Films are positioning the project within a wider catalogue of Khmer-language and English-language horror titles inspired by Cambodian folklore and Southeast Asian mythological traditions.
