Synopsis
A group of five friends sets out on a mountain adventure to celebrate the end of their college years, expecting a simple escape into nature before moving on to the next chapter of their lives.
Their journey takes them to Mount Welirang, but as they begin their climb, strange events start disturbing their peaceful trip. Unexplained sounds echo through the forest, unfamiliar signs appear along the trail, and the group slowly realizes they may not be alone.
As they venture deeper into the mysterious Alas Lali Jiwo area, the mountain reveals a darker side. Their survival becomes uncertain as fear, isolation, and supernatural forces begin closing in, leaving the friends questioning whether they will all make it back home.

Petaka Gunung Welirang is an Indonesian supernatural survival horror film directed by Indra Gunawan and written by Upi Avianto and Maya Azka.
Produced by Starvision Plus, the film explores Indonesia’s long-running tradition of mountain horror, combining hiking culture, local folklore, and supernatural beliefs.
Set against the isolated landscapes of Mount Welirang, the film builds its horror through atmosphere and psychological tension rather than relying only on jump scares, where the wilderness itself becomes a threatening presence, with the characters forced to confront both external dangers and unseen forces connected to the mountain’s legends.
The story follows a familiar theme in Indonesian horror: places of natural beauty can also hold ancient mysteries, and those who ignore local warnings may face consequences beyond explanation.
