10 Upcoming Horror Movies I’m Excited About in 2026

Werwulf

Well, the first two months of 2026 is over,  and I have already seen a fair few horror movie releases from this year already, so I thought I would list some of the upcoming horror movies I am still looking forward to the most.

Ordered by release date.

The Bride!

Directed by Maggie Gyllenhaal, and starring Jessie Buckley and Christian Bale, this won't be your traditional Universal Monster flick, asthis gothic reimagining of the Bride of Frankenstein promises to  trades lab coats for 1930s Chicago grit, and I for one cannot wait to watch it. Release date - March 6th.

Ready or Not 2: Here I Come

Samara Weaving is back as Grace, and apparently, her new in-laws are just as murderous as the last ones.

After the cult success of the 2019 original Ready or Not film, this sequel is promising more "eat-the-rich" satire, with a wedding night that turns into a full-scale war.

Did it need a sequel? Probably not, but if it's half as fun as the first one, I am all in. [Ready or Not 2 images, cast, and latest news]

Release date: March 20th.

Werwulf

Robert Eggers films aren't for everyone, but they are for me, and here he is set to tackle the werewolf mythos.

Set in 13th-century England, the film stars Aaron Taylor-Johnson and Ralph Ineson, and true to Eggers' style, the dialogue is written in a period-accurate dialect, promising a grueling, authentic look at lycanthropy. [Werwulf images, cast, and latest news]

Release date: December 25th.

Nosferatu

OK, this one is slightly cheating, as while it is not releasing for the first time this year, it is expected to see a"Director’s Cut" theatrical re-expansion late this year to capitalize on the Werwulf hype, so I will include it, as I loved Nosferatu.

Release date: TBC 2026.
