Synopsis
Set in 1930s Hollywood, Los Vampires is a period horror mystery inspired by the making of the 1931 Spanish-language Drácula, where a Spanish actor is hired to portray the Count during the film's overnight shoots finds himself constantly compared to the English-speaking star filming the same role by day, and as rivalry and jealousy grow between the two performers, a string of brutal murders begins to plague the studio.
Mixing old Hollywood glamour with occult horror, the film imagines a dark, supernatural version of one of cinema's most fascinating productions.

About Los Vampires
Los Vampires is a fictionalised tribute to the production of George Melford's 1931 Spanish-language Dracula, which was famously filmed on the same Universal sets used by Tod Browning's Dracula, with the Spanish cast and crew working through the night after the English-language production wrapped each day.
Rather than recreating historical events exactly, Mitchell crafts an original murder mystery infused with supernatural folklore, psychological tension, and classic Universal Horror aesthetics, and drawing comparisons to Shadow of the Vampire, the film explores artistic obsession, identity, and the hidden struggles behind Hollywood's Golden Age while celebrating the overlooked legacy of the Spanish-language classic.
Director and Cast
Los Vampires is directed by Craig Mitchell and the cast includes Henry Ian Cusick, Thomas Kretschmann, Daniela Couso, Jefferson Mays, Oscar Nuñez and Jorge Diaz.
